Yeah baby, once again I got the scoop on the latest additions to the ever evolving Amatomu.

Here’s a quick interview with co-founder, Vincent Maher, on some of the new features you can expect over at the aggregator.

Amatomu ranks blogs on page impressions as where your American counterpart, Technorati, largely bases their rankings on inbound links - Was this your inspiration to add this functionality to Ama?

We always wanted to do inbound links but were waiting for a big enough dataset - we now have 30 days of data so we’ve started using it. Technorati was the obviously a big factor in our thinking but we wanted to be sure that that functionality was a subset of the site’s total capability

“Blogs that have blogrolled me” I now see this in my blog’s backend, is this based on back links anywhere within the friendly blogs pages or specifically from the blogroll links area?

The blogroll section is our best guess at the blogs that are linking to you throughout their template, typically in the blogroll.

Back links and page impressions are two good ways to judge a blog’s worth - but some blog owners might argue that there’s other ways to measuring a blog’s rank?

Yes, we are very aware that there are different ways to evaluate how well a blog is doing, so we decided to offer several different views. What that also does is it gives blogs exposure based on different criteria. We have one more metric up our sleeves but that’s going to take a few days before we roll it out
