Local web entrepreneur, Tyler Reed, hit me up on IM a few days back about his new project, Student Sale, which had finally launched! He spoke to me sometime back (way before Facebook announced classifieds) about students having a quick hassle free service squarely aimed at getting rid of any unwanted junk. Spending the last few months building and tweaking the app it has finally come out of beta.
The service features a nice clean easy to use interface with classified entries appearing on the homepage. You have options of buying the listed item, telling your friends about it or reporting bad stuff. The most recent listed items are compiled into a rss feed which is very handy to beam onto local student web properties. (Hook a deal with a uni!?)
Finally, Tyler created a Student Sale Facebook group in the prelude to the service launch marketing to his target market. More Facebook influence involves being able to post items straight from Student Sale to any Facebook user. Nifty.
My only beef is the site needs a better logo - theres no ‘icon’ to remember the site by.
Got some stuff laying around? Shoot over to Student sale!

Hey Charl
Thanks for the awesome review and feedback.
With regards to the logo.. I am trying a different scheme of branding with Student Sale. I hate following traditional methods. I will elaborate in a blog post when I talk about the branding strategy.
Thanks again, keep blogging hard!
chrissake. this is what happens when students ‘design’ things. it’s ugly mate. do something about it.
