Below is the talk I did at the recent 24.com blogger workshop called 20 Tips and Tricks for your blog covering three topics - how to market, manage and monetise your blogging. The audience was entry level so if you are a seasoned blogger you might know most of the stuff I mention. I had a great time answering questions at the work shop, thanks to Alistair and Mandy for having me.
I have returned from my trip to Silicon Valley where I attended the MIH Tech conference 2008. I can’t share much of what was discussed at the conference as it was a closed forum. But you can have look at my photos on Flickr to see some of my activities - Touring San Francisco, Visiting Vinny at Synthasite Inc, photos from the tech conference and museum, visiting Mediazone and our visit to Frys electronics.
Next week I’m off to Silicon Valley for the MIH Swat technical conference in Palo Alto. All the technical heads of Naspers companies around the world will be attending the conference to discuss the future of web applications. I have quite a few American readers on this blog so if you are in the Bay area please get in touch so we can meet up! So far I have a trip planned to the Synthasite offices with Vinny Lingham and a visit to the local Apple Store to buy some Mac goodies including a cover for my iPhone.
I fly next week Monday to New York and then to San Francisco, follow my Twitter stream for updates as I will tweet my experience.
I have been nominated for ICT Young Entrepreneur of Africa 2008. Now to even be nominated is a great honour for me seeing as last years winner of the award is internationally renowned Vinny Lingham.
