The nominations and judges have been announced for the 2008 SA Blog Awards. Bandwidth Blog is nominated in the “Best post” and “Best Tech blog” categories which is a great achievement for me. I worked really hard last year to turn Bandwidth Blog into the definitive source for local web 2.0 news and scoops. To receive the recognition of being nominated shows hard work pays off.

Jon Cherry asked me to help with finding international celebrity bloggers to help judge the event. I managed to get Marshall Kirkpatrick on board from ReadWriteWeb. I often chat to him about getting African startups onto RWW – He’s a great guy and very interested in our emerging market. (See his Afrigator post)
