Coolest guy on the internet SERP contest – I have entered a SEO competition held by MIH to see who is the coolest guy on the internet. The whos who of MIH internet is taking part in this competition so it will be a great way to see who has the most Google power! Currently the blogger on the top spot for the targeted SERP has thousands of back links so it should be nearly impossible to topple him. But that won’t stop me from entering – I think it’s a cool challenge that will determine who is the ‘coolest guy on the internet’. Good luck to all the other cool guys involved!

The ‘Coolest guy on the internet’ Google bomb competition has started off with a bang – the early leaders are Brad Fallon (he had a head start), Justin Hartman and Rafiq Phillips. The early stages of any SEO comp is to try grab a good spot in the SERPS, build back links and move up slowly.

The search results page for ‘Coolest guy on the internet’ is bouncing around as the Google algorithm tries to figure out which entries are ‘relevant’. Yesterday I was third and now today I’m a bit further down -

The MIH SEO competition was ‘first to the top’ and not held till the end of Feb as I thought – so the competition is now over as one of the MIH guys made it to the top and dropped down again the next day – with the sensitivity of the SERP ‘first to the top’ is not an accurate way to determine the winner. #lame

I have sneaked to the top of the SERP on Google.co.za all pages – next up is international search
